Come join us to indulge our poetic side by listening to two amazing authors!

When: Friday September 19th, 2025 7 - 9PM

Sara: Sara Eddy’s second full-length poetry collection, How to Wash a Rabbit, is forthcoming from Cornerstone Press.  She is also author of Ordinary Fissures (2024), and two chapbooks: Full Mouth (2020), and Tell the Bees (2019).  Her poems have appeared in many online and print journals, including Threepenny Review, Raleigh Review, Sky Island, and Baltimore Review, among others. Her poems have been nominated for Pushcart and Best of Net Prizes, and she was the recipient of Causeway Literature’s poetry award.  She lives in Amherst, Massachusetts, in a house built by Emily Dickinson’s cousin.

Jen: Jen Jabaily-Blackburn is the author of the full-length collection Girl in a Bear Suit (Elixir Press, 2024) and the e-chapbook Disambiguation (Salamander/Suffolk University, 2024). She is the winner of the Louisa Solano Memorial Emerging Poet Award from Salamander, selected by Stephanie Burt. Her recent work has appeared in or is coming soon from The Common, On the Seawall, SIR, Arkansas International, Palette Poetry, Salamander, Fugue, and Banshee. This exciting event will feature a festive parade, an empowering rally, and a community resource fair.

All tickets will include admission to the fair, a raffle ticket, and 5 game tickets to be used at activities. More game tickets will be available for purchase at the event.

This class offers a refreshing approach to weight training for cis men, trans men, and masculine of center nonbinary people, creating a supportive environment free from toxic masculinity and unwanted 'gym bro' culture. The workout is designed to be inclusive and adaptable for all fitness levels.

Each session focuses on building full-body strength through a combination of dumbbell exercises, body weight movements, core work, and cardio elements. The fast-paced environment emphasizes proper form, powerful movements, and mutual encouragement.

Participants can expect to develop physical strength while simultaneously building self-confidence and a sense of personal safety. Participants are invited to bring their authentic selves, understanding that masculinity, vulnerability and strength can coexist powerfully. Attendees will leave the session feeling sweaty, stronger, and emotionally uplifted - a testament to the class's commitment to transformative, compassionate fitness for radically kind people.

This 60 minute strength training class will introduce you to the use of kettlebells, barbells, dumbbells, and more! You will learn proper form for using bells and bars, progressing through functional movements then eventually adding an element of power to the lifts, as you feel comfortable. Each month is focused on a new type of lift (ie Squatting) and is led by a personal trainer who will watch your form, give you tips, and provide alternative options if you don’t like it!

This circuit-style class incorporates weight-bearing and strength training exercises combined with balance and flexibility components to improve bone density and reduce the risk of fractures.
